Runner vs Aileron: Competitive Assessment
Runner (runner.now) and Aileron both put an AI agent in front of your Gmail, Slack, and GitHub, but on different layers and for different buyers: Runner is an end-user app holding your credentials in its cloud, Aileron the developer-and-team runtime that seals them at the network boundary and governs every action by policy. They don't compete for the same buyer today; the risk worth tracking is that buyers conflate the two on a skim, and that a fast-shipping, repeat-founder team moves down-stack into Aileron's layer.

Google AX vs Aileron: Competitive Assessment
AX and Aileron use overlapping language but diverge on substance. AX delivers a coordination runtime and open protocol surfaces; Aileron delivers a runtime plus a policy-bearing Action and Connector substrate, credential sealing at the network boundary, shell-layer mediation, team-scoped HITL, and a multi-cloud TEE trajectory. Principal risks are narrative collision now and a managed AX on GCP later.
